Is there anywhere on the world a reactor breeding Th232 to U233 with a breeding rate bigger than one ?
A "SLOW BREEDER" (Copyright: Schulten, Schottlaender and others).
I was surprised to learn with my now 61 years what I should/could have learned already 40 years ago:
World´s Th232-resources are a few hundred times bigger than world´s U-235 resources.
Because U233, U235 and Pu239 are the only materials for civil nuclear prime power production my question makes sense.
Can you explain me why almost all of world´s nuclear power plants burn/need the very rare U235 ?
